Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While the location was fantastic, allowing me to walk easily to the city and the beautiful Botanic Gardens, the rooms were in need of a makeover, and I found the lack of soundproofing quite disturbing. Breakfast was complimentary and a nice touch, but overall, the facilities felt a bit dated. Value for money was decent, given the spacious room and included amenities, but there were definitely areas for improvement.
I had a delightful stay at Shepherds Arms, where the dining experience truly shines with accommodating staff and fantastic pub meals, though my room at another hotel was basic and in need of maintenance. Overall, it was great value for the money at Shepherds Arms, but some aspects of the other hotel left much to be desired, particularly regarding cleanliness and noise issues.
This hotel is a budget option with basic amenities and a few perks like complimentary breakfast, ideally located within walking distance of the city center and Botanic Gardens. While the rooms are clean, they are in desperate need of renovation, which detracts from the overall experience. The access security to the guest area is lacking, which is concerning. I appreciate the nearby cafes and the quality of the on-site dining.
I had a mixed experience during my stay. The rooms were a charming blend of old fittings and comfort, while the dining at the nearby pub was delightful and exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, my experience at the Xmas lunch was quite disheartening due to poor food quality and service. I appreciate the cozy ambiance in the evenings, but overall, the inconsistency in dining left much to be desired.
I had a delightful stay overall at the Shepherds Arms, which continues to serve what I believe is the best pub meal in Wellington. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the staff were attentive. However, the atmosphere was a bit noisy on quiz nights. The room we stayed in was large and comfortable but in need of some redecoration. It was definitely good value for money, especially with onsite parking available.
